In Ontario, fire extinguishers in a commercial or industrial setting must be inspected annually by a NFPA 10 certified technician. All Pyromatics technicians are NFPA 10 certified, contact us to book an annual inspection.
A monthly visual inspection is also required of businesses, this can be completed by an internal staff member trained on fire safety. Pyromatics also offers monthly inspection services.
Ontario’s Fire Code requirements outline the maintenance intervals for fire protection products. Portable fire extinguishers with an ABC rating have a scheduled maintenance every 6 years from the manufacturing date. The purpose of periodic maintenance is to ensure the equipment is fully operable in the case of an emergency.

Ontario Fire Code requires that private fire hydrants be inspected annually to ensure that they are in good working condition and ready for use in the event of a fire.
The annual inspection includes a visual inspection of the fire hydrant and its components, such as the casing, nozzle, and connection. The inspector may also perform functional tests, such as a flow test, to ensure that the fire hydrant is capable of delivering the required flow rate.
